Chronic low back pain is a condition that many people suffer from. If you have suffered for any length of time you most likely have tried many treatment options to find relief.

The disc by far is the main cause of low back pain. Research has indicated that the majority of cases are attributed to disc pain. The second most common reason for back pain is facet joint pain followed by SI joint pain.

An important thing to understand about the disc is that it is only pain sensitive in the outer 1/3. This is important to understand because often damage can occur over time and you may never know, until the outer 1/3 of the disc is contacted by the inner material. This is why back pain can come on so suddenly out of the blue.

The disc is very susceptible to dehydration and degeneration primarily because if it’s lack of a direct blood supply. It receives it’s vital nutrients and hydration from the bones above and below where a rich blood supply is present. Once the disc becomes damaged the disc loses it’s ability to maintain hydration and it becomes dry and much more likely to deteriorate.

One little known fact about disc pain is that once a disc begins to dry out it becomes more pain sensitive. That’s because certain cells that hold hydration in the disc also inhibit the growth of pain sensitive nerves in the disc. So once a disc drys out painful nerves become more abundant.

There is only one treatment that actually creates a healthy and nourishing influx on hydration into the disc and that is spinal decompression. This treatment creates an active fluid exchange so that the disc receives the nutrition that it needs to heal.

Muscle contraction response is a common problem when applying any type of traction force to the spine, however the technology known as spinal decompression has a patented computer technology that allows it to overcome contraction of these muscles in real time. This allows a true spinal decompression effect to take place.

Once decompression is achieved a negative pressure in the disc creates 2 very important scenarios. First it actively retracts any herniated or bulging material centrally to relieve nerve compression or irritation and secondly it actively draws in nutrition so the disc can heal.

Treating the primary source of back pain is what makes spinal decompression unique, other treatments try to mask the pain and never create a structural benefit.

If you have tried other treatments with little to no success you really owe it to yourself to look into spinal decompression. The benefits are lasting unlike most of the other treatments available.

If you suffer from back pain, then you owe it to yourself to explore what treatment options are available. You want to check with your doctor or chiropractor to diagnose your condition. Some forms of lower back pain can be treated more naturally while others may need surgery. This depends on many factors that your health professional can consult you on directly. Many back pain treatments utilize massage therapy to help assist the healing process. Massage therapy is not necessarily the cure. It is a compliment to your therapeutic needs. Massage therapy can be performed by a massage therapist or in some cases with a massage chair.

There are two major causes of back pain. Either it just happens, like an accident, which is most unfortunate. Or it creeps up gradually on us as we go about our routines. A traumatic injury is usually a sharp pain which needs immediate attention. The more subtle, gradual pain build up may from our sitting, posture, pregnancy or even from stress. This more subtle pain is nonetheless painful. We need to think prevention and start to seek treatment while it is in its early stages.

Getting diagnosed is the first step. Your health care professional can chart out a plan of action for you. Following the treatment is important to actually achieve progress in healing your condition. Minor back pain can cause considerable discomfort. These back pains are accumulating and tend to build through time. The result is minor back pain that can be uncomfortable. On the treatment side, unfortunately, treatments require time. The healing process is not overnight. New routines may need to be established. These new routines are to correct the causes to stop the damage.

Is your back pain going to get cured by doing the same thing you have always done? Most likely not. You may have developed habits that are leading to the pain you are feeling. Your posture may be the cause of your back pain. You may need to stand up straighter and hold your shoulders back. This requires effort and reinforcement. This is the type of information you and your health professional should be discussing. Your health professional can help you set the course back to normal.

In many cases of back pain, there is physical therapy, change of habits and tension relief. Tension and anxiety can be effectively reduced with massage therapy. Massage therapy is wonderful to help relax the mind and work out the stress that has accumulated in the body. There are many massage therapies to assist your recovery. One option you many not be aware of is massage chairs. Massage chairs offer a vast selection of effective massage therapies.

If you have gradual pain and discomfort get some professional attention. You owe it to your family and yourself to not live with the pain. How happy can you be if your back hurts? Life could certainly be better. Check with your doctor and find a course of action right for you. Most likely massage therapy will be a part of our curriculum. If so, explore your options with both massage therapists and massage chairs. Both have advantages and disadvantages, but finding a healthy treatment to get you back to normal is the most important concern.

Sometime medicine prescribed by a doctor just doesnat seem to work. So a person will have to think outside the box for that one thing that will be the cure. Something that people may resort to is acupuncture. You may have heard of this but you might not know exactly what it is and why itas used?

Acupuncture is used with Chinese herbs and medicines to help heal. Although, it was developed as an ancient Chinese method, acupuncture is still used today to help treat medical issues. It continues to heal people all over the world when they need to resort to acupuncture.

Now you are probably wondering how does acupuncture work? It works by inserting many needles under the skin. These needles are carefully inserted in precise locations on the body and when theyare inserted properly, aches and pain will vanish.

Acupuncture takes time to understand. You must take an acupuncture course before you are able to practice this method. The classes will teach you acupuncture models and the techniques to properly apply the treatment. This is a delicate skill, and without these courses, a person could inflict more pain. Improper placement could damage the bodyas nervous system.

For example, if a person seeks acupuncture to relieve pain in their arm, and sees a person who is not certified and is not trained in the proper techniques, this person could recommend the wrong area. This untrained person could apply acupuncture to the arm and the result is nerve damage to the patients arm leaving them with less feeling for the rest of their life.

The previous example is a perfect reason why only professionals should be used for this risky procedure. The knowledge and experience of a professional is most beneficial to the success of acupuncture. A better feeling of life can be achieved if this Chinese practice is performed correctly.

As technological and medical advances in science are carried on, other ailments are beginning to be cured by acupuncture. Currently the most common uses for acupuncture are to alleviate arthritis, back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and sciatica.

Now you should have an idea of what acupuncture really is. It is a technique developed by the Chinese to treat both minor and major aches and pains. In fact, if you are desperate, this treatment may work for you when medications arenat helping.
